Dearing: Clearing a Path for the Rising Class

tizian-dearing-513x336 copyBC Social Work Professor Tiziana Dearing has plenty of experience providing a much-needed voice on poverty in America, and she’s very good at being heard through some of the nation’s most consumed media outlets.

In addition to blogging regularly for The Huffington Post and WBUR’s Cognoscenti on nonprofits, philanthropy, and social justice, Professor Dearing is often cited in the press. In just the past several months alone, she’s been interviewed by radio stations WRKO, WGBH, and WBUR.

Professor Dearing has honed a passionate, innovative voice on social justice and equality during important tenures in executive leadership — as the first woman president of Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Boston, and later, as the first CEO of Boston Rising.

Moving forward in this space, Professor Dearing will provide commentary on the critical developments made by the ‘rising class’, and how those in positions in leadership can best facilitate a movement toward better equality in America.

To keep track of all she has to say, both here and beyond, follow Professor Dearing on twitter. And don’t forget to follow BC Social Work as well – we’ll let you know any time one of our distinguished faculty members or alumni is in the news.
